Bless the Lord, O my soul

Worship His holy name….
For those who may not know our family’s story, four years ago my husband Mark Hoverson was diagnosed with stage 4 neuroendocrine pancreatic cancer.
The first 3 years are a story in and of themselves and I may start a blog just to release my soul and share with those who might be interested or could relate.
This past year has been one of the most trying times for our family with Mark being on and off of Hospice 3 times, going

paralyzed and requiring emergency spine surgery which put him out of work for months….
ALL that said to talk about the above picture…
Bless the Lord oh, my Soul…
Mark, even in his own trying state of mind was thinking about the family.
Shortly before Mark went into hospice for the first time, he decided he wanted to buy the family a new 100% purebred Golden Retriever to be a distraction for us. I thought he was crazy as if we didn’t have enough on our plates.
BUT…
Despite the hemming and hawing from the family (because we knew we would be the caretakers, hehe), came home EVE! (Her name means, ‘Mother of the Living’).
Named because our family will continue to LIVE.
In the picture you see my son, Isaac, and Eve holding each other while sleeping…
Eve has been nothing short of “perfect”. Perfect in behavior, and most importantly as a distraction for each and every one of us during this season.
I never knew I could love an animal this deeply and it feels so right and healing for all of us.
Once again, Mark’s wisdom comes through for our family.
Bless the Lord O my soul
The sun comes up; it’s a new day dawning
It’s time to sing Your song again
Whatever may pass and whatever lies before me
Let me be singing when the evening comes
Bless the Lord, O my soul
O my soul
