Today was parent teacher conferences for Rush and Micah, my 7th and 6th grader.
To be total transparent, I was a bit dreading this moment and wanting to find a way to skip it.
I wouldn’t have of course but…
After losing their father August of 2018, last school season was not the most pleasant for me.
I wondered if this was just going to be the new normal.
Dropped grades.

Phone calls regular enough that when I would see the school calling, I would think, “sigh, what now?”
Which brings us full speed ahead to today, the beginning of the second school year since their dad’s passing.
PRAISE REPORT.
Rush had Straight A’s and said to be a leader and received the principals award.
Micah has All A’s an B’s and was said to have much improvement.
Still a few things to work on, but it was one of those moments when I got to the car after the meeting, I sat there, paused for a moment, had a tear run down my cheek and thanked the good Lord above.
Any area that I can start to see a light at the end of the tunnel, I pause in gratitude.
Thank you everyone who has kept our family in your prayers, please continue to do so as they are working!
